Seismic equipment is used for continuous monitoring and protection of geological structures and buildings, as well as for seismic exploration in a specific region. The seismic system can be either stationary or portable. Mobile portable stations can provide seismic monitoring and seismic survey in the field without fixed power supply.
Types of seismic equipment
Equipment for seismological research can have different structures and functions. The simplest are seismic installations with one receiving channel. Most of these devices are analog, an oscilloscope is used as a recorder, which records the vibrations of the earth's surface. The oscilloscope can record the oscillation graph on paper or display it on an analog monitor. Digital seismic stations have significantly more functions than analog ones. Each digital station for recording tremors consists of a perceiving and recording unit. The receiving part is made up of multichannel geophones. The recording unit includes the following components: signal amplifiers, a channel switch and a converter that transmits pulses to a digital recorder, batteries and a device for monitoring the measurements.
Using seismic stations
Portable seismic system is used for various purposes. Mobile seismic stations provide the ability to monitor seismic waves in the field. With the help of installations of this type, it is also possible to diagnose the stability of building structures. Portable seismic equipment is suitable for remote monitoring of oil and gas pipelines.
