Convectors are heating devices that work by heating cold air streams and spreading warm air around the room. Depending on the installation method and appearance, convectors are:
- Floor
- Wall mounted
- Basement
- Window sills
- Intra-floor
The most popular, due to the convenience of location and not blocking the space, are floor or built-in convectors. In turn, built-in convectors are divided into electric and water. The disadvantage of electrical ones is that they need a constant power supply. This fact contributes to the high costs of electricity and the impossibility of heating the room, in its absence. Built-in water convectors are equipped with a heat exchanger connected to the heating system.
According to their principle of operation, underfloor heating devices are available with natural and forced convection. Convectors with natural convection are equipped with only a heating body and have little heat transfer. Such devices are installed as additional heating, or as an independent one in small rooms. Appliances with forced convection, equipped with a heat exchanger and a fan powered by a power source (12-24 volts) and contributes to much better circulation. These convectors are very powerful and can independently heat large rooms.
Built-in convectors also use in demand, because of its safety and attractive appearance. All heating and circulating elements of the device (heat exchanger and fan, if provided) are covered with a decorative grill. The lattice is made in the form of parallel stripes, with small gaps between them. Production material: natural wood, duralumin or natural stone. Also, manufacturers of underfloor heating devices offer painting of decorative grilles in any color, according to the RAL scale.
The most popular and demanded brands that manufacture and sell in the territory of Ukraine, floor convectors are:
- Carrera (Ukraine)
- Polvax (Ukraine)
- Verano (Poland)
Convectors differ in price. Also, when buying floor convectors for a bedroom, you should pay attention to the noise level emitted by the fan, it is different for each manufacturer.
Built-in convectors are the ideal solution for panoramic windows, panoramic doors and elevated rooms
