The Poland-Ukraine gas pipeline should be created as soon as possible, since a single gas market and a gas hub are a strategic goal of the Polish and Ukrainian states. Thanks to the Polish PGNiG's investments in Ukraine, gas will be able to flow from all directions.
The planned merger of the Poland-Ukraine gas market involves the construction of a new gas pipeline between nodes on Polish territory and on the border with Ukraine. The total length of the pipeline is about 112 km. Completion of construction is scheduled for mid-2020. The capacity of the new gas pipeline will range from 5 to 8 billion cubic meters. meters of gas per year.
According to the vice president, PGNiG, after 2022, Poland will have the opportunity to supply gas to the Ukrainian market from the Norwegian shelf, LNG terminals, or produced gas in Poland. Poland will become more and more attractive in terms of the supply of raw materials.
According to the joint decision, Poland and Ukraine will strive for a situation in which Russia will not remain the dominant supplier and will not be able to use the sale of its gas for political purposes.
