According to Eurostat, imports of combined iron ore to the EU in the first ten months of the year amounted to 91.86 million tonnes. Imports of agglomerated ore in January-October 17 increased by 3.4% and amounted to 24.04 million tons.
The top three ore importing countries were the Netherlands, France and Germany. During these three countries, these countries accounted for almost 49% of total imports. Ore imports by the Netherlands, France and Germany amounted to 2.136 million tonnes, 1.045 million tonnes and 1.022 million tonnes, respectively.
Average monthly imports of non-agglomerated iron ore in the EU region amounted to 6.490 million tonnes, up 2.5% over the previous year. The import value for the month was $ 498 million. Imports of non-agglomerated ore averaged $ 76.7 per ton. The three largest importers were the Netherlands (1.859 million tonnes), France (881,198 tonnes) and the Czech Republic (586,041 tonnes).
