Emirates Steel Industries (ESI), a steel producer in the UAE, is advancing the third phase of its hot rolled coil (HRC) expansion plan. The plan was postponed for many years due to a shortage of natural gas.
The company is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of this plan to increase its steel production capacity to more than 5 million tonnes per year.
Said Al Remeiti, CEO of ESI, indicated that following the assessment, ESI plans to expand its assets and operations in response to the growing demand for rolled steel and flat products in the markets.
The launch of HRC's products as part of the growth plan was aimed at maximizing its contribution to the UAE industrial sector. The expansion plan was also in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 target, which increased competitiveness through diversification and provided domestically produced flat products to end users.
