Zaporizhstal increased production of rolled metal by 7.2%

In January-March 2021, the Zaporozhye Metallurgical Plant increased its output of rolled products by 7.2% compared to the same period last year - up to 855.5 thousand tons.

According to the published press release, steel production during this period increased by 4.4% - up to 1 million 2.6 thousand tons, pig iron - by 3.4%, up to 1 million 164.3 thousand tons. In March-2021, 394.3 thousand tons of pig iron, 343.7 thousand tons of steel, 291.5 thousand tons of rolled products were produced, while in March-2020 - 355.9 thousand tons of pig iron, 301.1 thousand tons of steel. tons of steel, 233.9 thousand tons of rolled products. "Higher indicators in March-2021 compared to the same period last year are due to the shutdown in 2020 of blast furnace No. 5 for overhaul," - explained in a press release.

As previously reported, Zaporizhstal in 2020 reduced the production of rolled products by 4.3% compared to the previous year - to 3 million 203.9 thousand tons, steel by 5.5% - to 3 million 783.7 million tons, while the production of pig iron increased by 2.5% - up to 4 million 470.6 thousand tons. Zaporizhstal is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Ukraine, whose products are in great demand among consumers both in the domestic market and in many countries of the world.

Zaporizhstal is in the process of integrating into the Metinvest group, the main shareholders of which are PJSC System Capital Management (71.24%) and the Smart Holding group of companies (23.76%).
