Total iron ore pellet production was 2.7 million tonnes (“Mt”), which is in line with the year-on-year compared with the production of pellets in Q1 2020 and 12% below Q4 2020, reflecting ongoing modernization work. pellets.
The modernization of one pellet line was completed in the 1st quarter of 2021, further work continues in the 2nd quarter of 2021.
The Group expects total pellet capacity to increase by 0.5-1.0 Mtpa following completion of this work.
Production of high quality pellets (65% Fe and 67% Fe) accounted for 100% of total pellet production in Q1 2021 (Q1 2020: 97%).
The Company also recorded an additional production of 65,000 tonnes of high quality concentrate for sale in Q1 2021 as a result of the commissioning and expansion of the Company's concentrate warehouse project.
