ArcelorMittal Poland (AMP) has invested PLN 100 million to refurbish its cold rolling mill at its Krakow plant after announcing a PLN 30 million environmental investment late last year. The renovation was scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
AMP is very interested in investing in the plant in Krakow. It was hoped that the Krakow plant would be able to increase production capacity and maintain stable energy consumption after the transformation to meet the growing demand from customers.
The AMP blast furnace, which was idle in November 2019 due to declining demand, produced just 3.9 million tonnes of crude steel last year, down 19% from last year.
