According to the head of Europe's largest copper producer, Poland's KGHM Polska Miedź SA, European industry could only continue to grow with clean energy if the EU decides to consider some investment in nuclear power plants as sustainable, green energy.
KGHM Polska Miedź, the largest consumer of electricity in Poland, where 70% of electricity is generated by coal, is looking for low-emission solutions for its own needs as it aims to achieve carbon neutral emissions by 2050.
Last September, KGHM Polska Miedź announced an initial agreement with US company NuScale Power to develop and build the first small nuclear reactor in Poland.
