The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that the ban on the export of scrap will be extended for another six months from May 6.
The ban includes the export of scrap and waste of ferrous metals from Kazakhstan, with the exception of elements of railway rolling stock that are being exported for repairs.
The policy is to ensure that Kazakhstani steel producers receive enough raw materials.
