US Steel Košice resumes operation of Blast Furnace No. 2

US Steel Košice, based in Kosice, Slovakia, has restarted its Blast Furnace #2, which was out of service last September. Blast Furnace #1 was idle in early December due to low demand for steel and resumed operation earlier this month. Blast furnace No. 3 is kept in working order.

After the resumption of operation of blast furnace No. 2, all three furnaces are now operating with a total production capacity of about 4.5 million tons per year.
