Types of pallet racks

Виды паллетных стеллажей

Collapsible structures designed to store cargo on shelves or pallets (pallets) are called pallet racks. The structure consists of main (frame, traverse beams) and additional elements (transverse and shelf lintels, mesh shelves, linings for containers and cylindrical loads).

The traverses are attached in two ways: with bolts and with hooks (boltless fastening). The second type of fastening is more reliable, with its help the installation is much easier. It is widely used in Western European countries.

Modern pallet racks there are two types: frontal and rammed (deep).

Frontal models

Front-end racks are simple in design and are used everywhere for picking and placing various goods. Their use is effective where there is a wide range of products.

The design of a standard front rack has several levels; the arrangement of the beams is longitudinal. Storage of goods is allowed on eight levels. Racks are installed in rows. A passage for loading equipment is left between them.

The advantages of such models are: ease of installation, low cost, quick access to goods. The disadvantage is the lower utilization of useful areas compared to deep shelving.

Deep

The disadvantages of frontal racks are compensated for by deep (rammed) racks, which are ordinary frontal racks, but doubled in rows. The use of such structures allows for 25% more efficient use of warehouse space, given the absence of aisles between the shelves.

These models are used where a high shipping speed is not required. The goods are shipped by forklifts equipped with telescopic forks or stackers. Structures of this type are used to store goods of the same type, for which the term of use is not limited.

Locksmiths workbenches

A work table designed for processing metal products is called a locksmith's workbench. According to the construction locksmith's workbenches there are no-stand, with one and with two pedestals. Drawers equipped with drawers and shelves are designed to store various tools, documentation, parts.

The workbench frame is made of metal, the lid is made of wood. Wooden countertops have different finishes: sheet metal, plywood, textolite, linoleum. A bench vise can be attached to the working surface of the table; the necessary tools and parts are located on it. The table top must be strong and withstand a load of up to 200 kg.
