Due to their high anti-corrosion properties, galvanized metal structures are very popular in a number of industries, both industrial and agricultural. With their help, various warehouse and production facilities, all kinds of outbuildings and industrial facilities are being erected. In addition, they are indispensable for the construction of frame buildings.
Basic methods of galvanizing steel structures
The production of galvanized steel structures has repeatedly proved its reliability and high efficiency. Today, the following methods of production of galvanized structures are distinguished:
- Hot-dip galvanizing method. With this method of production, the metal frame is placed in a container with molten zinc, where the top layer of metal is replaced by a thin layer of zinc;
- Cold galvanizing method. With this method, special zinc compounds are sprayed onto the metal or a zinc-sprayed film is used;
Among the above methods, hot-dip galvanizing of metal proved to be especially effective. Its use makes it possible to extend the service life of structures up to 50 years, and the low cost of production has a positive effect on the compilation of the cost of products. Moreover, galvanized metal does not need additional treatment with anti-corrosion agents and paints.
Types of galvanized steel structures
Today, galvanized steel is an irreplaceable building material. Products made from this material are lightweight, strong and, most importantly, durable. High resistance to corrosion is an undeniable advantage of this material.
There are the following types of galvanized steel structures:
- Small:
- Light;
- Non-standard;
- Construction metal structures;
During operation, two more categories appeared, into which they can be divided:
- Conditionally collapsible. Galvanizing is done in a disassembled state;
- Stationary. Here, galvanizing of structures is carried out assembled;
Applications:
- Frames of various buildings and structures;
- Fencing and roofing for facilities under construction;
- Floor elements;
- All kinds of awnings, supports, stairs and fences;
It is highly discouraged to use metal welding to connect such structures. In this case, different threaded connections are used.
The oxide film possessed by zinc prevents the natural process of corrosion and destruction of metal structures. Thanks to such a special
