Gazprom Neft is one of the largest oil producers in Russia and a popular supplier of diesel fuel and gasoline. In addition to exports to more than 50 countries around the world, wholesale fuel sales on the domestic market here are carried out by Gazpromneft-Regional sales. The presence of a large number of tank farms and our own transport ensure mutually beneficial supplies of high-quality fuel both in the Moscow region, and St. Petersburg, and in the most remote regions of the Russian Federation.
Light vehicles such as cars, sports cars and small trucks provide about 90% of all gasoline consumption. Gasoline is one of the main types of fuel consumed in Russia and produced by refineries.
At the same time, diesel fuel is considered the most important for the Russian economy. As a transportation fuel, diesel offers a wide range of functions, efficiency and safety because diesel is less flammable and less explosive than other fuels. Diesel engines are also less prone to interruptions than gasoline engines. Diesel also has a higher energy density than other liquid fuels, so it provides more usable energy per unit volume.
Diesel engines are used in trucks, trains, boats and barges. Diesel fuel helps transport almost all products that people consume and is also used in public transport.
Diesel fuel powers most agricultural and construction equipment. The construction industry is heavily dependent on diesel fuel. Diesel engines can tackle challenging construction jobs, providing the ability to lift steel girders, dig foundations and trenches, drill wells, lay roads and move soil safely and efficiently.
Diesel fuel is also used in diesel engine generators to generate electricity. Many industrial sites, large buildings, institutions, hospitals and power plants have diesel generators for backup and emergency power supply. Most remote villages use diesel generators for electrical power.
