The use of each meter of the usable area of the warehouse increases its profitability, reduces the owner's or tenant's costs for its maintenance and, ultimately, increases profits. It was for these purposes that a whole system of special equipment was developed, consisting of various devices, the most effective of which are racks . The principle of the rammed method is widely used in the design of this kind of shelving by the developers of the Forstor company, which is engaged in their manufacture and installation in any type of warehouse.
Principle of rammed storage
Taking into account the fact that for the convenience of transportation, loading /unloading and storage of various goods, it is palletized on pallets of a certain size (European or American standard), warehouse premises are equipped with special racks with guides for free installation /removal of loaded pallet.
Depending on the shape of the warehouse, the characteristics of the cargo to be stored, the terms of its turnover (storage), racks of the rammed service principle can be installed in 2 versions:
- LIFO option - best suited for storage of the same type of product, for which a separate corridor is allocated, made of multi-level shelving. The stacker (loader) will be able to move freely along them. The goods that arrived at the warehouse last, in this option, are shipped after storage in the first place.
- A variant of the FIFO pass-through system - loading and unloading zones are divided by racks. The cargo that is accepted to the warehouse first is also the first and is shipped for further transportation.
The use of such a system for the arrangement of warehouses can significantly increase efficiency. The time spent on loading operations is reduced.
Arrangement of the warehouse with entrance racks is carried out after carrying out engineering and technical calculations, coordinating the project with the customer, taking into account the peculiarities of the cargo accepted for storage, as soon as possible without interrupting the production cycle.
