In an effort to make young people from marginalized communities employed, Tata Steel, through Tribal, a non-profit public organization, has provided a range of vocational training and internship programs.
The community organization has become the main provider of medical and cultural services in rural areas. These programs are comprehensive packages that help develop the capacity of rural women to meet the challenges of health and other areas of local life. The training aims to make unemployed people specialists in the field of medicine, organizing the supply of necessary goods to the region.
Since 2005, 196 girls have been trained to work for Community Health. The Cultural Society announced at the conference that 27 students were completed and assigned to Community Health, Tinplate and Jamshedpur hospitals. A new batch of 25 students from Noamundi, Joda, Seraikela will begin training on April 15, 2013. Dr. KP Dubey, Sr and HOD Specialist reported on the work done and the achievements of the Tata Steel program members.
50 students started their studies on April 1, 2013. This group consists of residents of the East and West Singhbhum, Seraikela - Kharsawan and Bokaro districts. Since 2001, 315 students have been trained for further employment at TATA Steel, TATA Motor. Some of those already working at the plant are striving to get higher education in various polytechnic institutes.
