Iran is launching production at the Reshad oil complex, a field in the Persian Gulf, in the current calendar year, which began on March 21. As Managing Director Mr. Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh told the National Iranian Offshore Company.
He stated that Iran has launched projects to develop four oil fields located in the Persian Gulf. This will lead to an increase in total production of 100,000 barrels per day in the current calendar year. "Several contracts worth USD 9 billion were signed last year to develop Salman, Lavan and Forouz B fields. Reshadat, Forouzan, Hengam and Hendijan field will be added this year to deliver 100,000 bpd as planned." .
An employee of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company said the Reshadat field is projected to produce 22,000 barrels per day of crude oil. Iran has announced that it will implement 11 plans to increase oil production by 175,000 barrels per day. The plans are related to the first phase of development of the Yadavaran, Sarvestan, Saadatabad, Hengam, Forouzan, Reshadat, Aban and Paydar fields, according to a report released by the National Iranian Oil Company on August 25th last year. After all phases of the plan are implemented, the output will be increased by 500,000 barrels per day. Mr Rostam Ghasemi, Minister of Petroleum, said that oil production in the country is projected to increase by 1.5 million barrels per day by 2016
