India's largest construction company Larsen & Toubro (L & T) in April and May 2013 won new orders over INR 2,542 rupees in various business segments. There is an increase in orders for the construction of stores and large shopping centers, similar to the already established L&T Seawoods in Mumbai, which is a masterpiece of modern architecture
The construction of such structures is associated with the consumption of a large number of metal structures, and subsequently there is a need to buy shelving for a store and other commercial equipment made of metal. The newly built Crescent Bay residential complex in Parel includes residential high-rise buildings and an imposing shopping complex.
The portfolio of orders includes factory buildings, residential buildings, a cement plant and the construction of civil infrastructure facilities. The implementation of the Metro Rail project in Kochi is planned. The scope of work includes the construction of viaducts, stations and connecting viaducts and ramps at the depot at Alwaye Petta, which will be the first phase of the project. In the transport infrastructure section, the new order, worth INR 315 million, is the most significant.
Public health facilities will be built. In addition, an important order will be the creation of a water distribution system for 97 villages on Tehsila Ladnu in the state of Rajasthan. Additional orders worth INR 192 million have been received for the implementation of power transmission and distribution projects.
