Oleg Bagrin was elected to the post of President of NLMK OJSC on the basis of his nomination by the largest shareholders of the company, who appreciated his work on the NLMK Board of Directors since 2004. Oleg Bagrin holds a PhD in Economics, an MBA from the University of Cambridge and extensive practical experience in the Strategic Planning Committee and Human Resources Committee.
The Management Board of the company, headed by Oleg Bagrin, manages the current activities of NLMK, which is one of the largest modern enterprises with a complete metallurgical cycle. NLMK produces pig iron, slabs, cold-rolled, hot-rolled, galvanized, transformer, electrical steel and long products.
The plant was born in the city of Lipetsk on the banks of the Voronezh River in 1931, when the construction of blast furnaces at the Lipetsk Metallurgical Plant began. Today NLMK is an open joint stock company, the production of which is concentrated not only in the center of the European part, but also in the Urals and other regions of Russia, as well as in Europe and the United States. Mr. Bagrin played an important role in transforming NLMK into an international vertically integrated group. Under his leadership, the technical modernization of the enterprise and other projects aimed at achieving the strategic goals of the company are carried out.
NLMK's strategy is to create an efficient production chain from the supply of electricity and mining divisions to the manufacture and sale of metal products. For this purpose, mining and steel facilities are formed and purchased, allowing to reduce production costs. It also provides the location of enterprises producing finished products in the immediate vicinity of the sales areas. The company seeks to expand its presence in various regions, while maintaining the industrial integrity of the metallurgical company, increasing the pace of production development and product quality, while adhering to environmental standards.
NLMK's management attaches an important role to personnel policy. The company operates the NLMK Group Leader 2020 program, with the members of which the company's Management Board regularly organizes meetings on the development of the management team, logistics and other important areas. During the last meeting, Oleg Bagrin, Chairman of the Management Board of NLMK, emphasized the relevance of the implementation of this program for training management personnel capable of introducing new ideas while observing the basic principles and traditions in the management of NLMK.
