If you want the result of the repair to satisfy you, first of all, you need to draw up a clear work plan and follow it relentlessly. The whole process of renovating premises can be divided into the following main stages.
Redevelopment. If you decide to move or even remove the interfering partition, while wanting to increase the area of the room, which is located next to the corridor or kitchen, then it is with the redevelopment that you should start. Prepare for the fact that this is a messy and rather difficult task, but doable. This process will only take a few days. At this stage of the renovation, all openings should be prepared for the replacement and installation of new windows and doors.
Restoration of communications and electrical installation. Communications include water and gas pipes, a heating system and electrical wiring. It is better to replace all pipes with modern plastic or metal-polymer. They will serve you for a very long time, as they do not corrode and rot. Welding and routing of pipes is carried out according to the plumbing placement plan, which you should have in stock. At the same time, it is necessary to prepare the piping for the radiator batteries, install the taps. After that, the bath is installed, the walls are leveled, the ceiling is mounted and the tiles are laid on the floor. Electrical work includes: dismantling the old wiring, if necessary, installing a new electrical panel, wiring to the places of the switches, determining the location of the sockets and the bulbs themselves. The electrical wiring in your bathroom must be grounded.
Glazing. It is the process of replacing window blocks, window sills and window slopes. It is the most dusty one. But the glazing will have to be done immediately, because later it is impossible to allow the appearance of dust during painting. After installation, new windows should be immediately wrapped in polyethylene.
Plastering work is the longest and most demanding. The delay here is related to technology, because in such works, each previous layer must dry very well before the next one can be applied. Walls should be cleaned of old coatings, such as wallpaper, paint. They are leveled with special finishing mixtures.
Ceiling work. It is very difficult and time-consuming to align ceilings. But it still depends on the condition of the ceilings themselves. You can whitewash them again or paint them and forget. If you want more, then you should install modern ceilings, for example, plasterboard or stretch ceilings. Then the alignment problem will disappear by itself.
The next stage is the so-called "dirty" work on the preparation of the base for the flooring. They will depend on what exactly you want to put on the floor. Only then can work related to the floor screed be started. After the screed, it is worth installing the door frames. You can also paint ceilings in parallel and lay laminated parquet or linoleum. This will be the next type of work - laying floor coverings. Of course, now the easiest way is to lay laminated parquet or parquet board. This will depend on the size of your budget.
Wall decoration. If your plans include painting the walls, then you should know that they need to be painted several times. The very last coat of paint is applied before installing the outlets and switches. If you are gluing wallpaper, then it is necessary to do it at this stage.
Arrangement of furniture. This is probably the most anticipated and joyful stage of work. Therefore, turn on your imagination and make your home cozy and reliable.
