- Secondly, both cast and forged products can be made from different materials. The most common wheels are aluminum, but there are analogues from magnesium alloys on the market. Cast products made from magnesium alloys are highly susceptible to corrosion. In our country, the use of cast magnesium wheels is not advisable, since they undergo severe corrosion in one season. Nevertheless, they are lighter (!) Than aluminum wheels and find many adherents in motorsport.
If we talk about prices for wheeled products, then there are even more significant differences. The cheapest steel products. Cast products have a wide range in price. Italian, German, Japanese brands are not cheap. However, the design, the highest impact strength, good paintwork, with a calm driving style and little maintenance during operation, allows even on the roads of our country to use them for up to 3-5-7 years while maintaining an attractive appearance. Forged wheels are very expensive. But all other parameters are positive for them.
Everyone has the right to choose the most suitable product in terms of prestige, image and "wallet". The external uniformity and nondescriptness of steel wheels, if desired, can be easily covered with light aluminum caps ...
