At the end of June 2013, the documents for the creation of the "Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction" were registered. The association includes the Metinvest group, research and development organizations, construction and installation companies and enterprises producing load-bearing and enclosing steel structures.
The purpose of the USCC creation is to increase the level of use of steel structures for the construction of building frames in Ukraine, the use of which reduces the weight of the frame, reduces the construction time and cost, which significantly differs from the use of other technologies. One of the ideas of the association was to create conditions under which buying galvanized steel will become much easier than it was before. The mission of the association is to introduce new building technologies that will significantly increase the use of steel structures in construction.
The largest consumer of steel structures in Ukraine is the construction sector. The share of consumption of load-bearing and enclosing metal structures in the construction of residential buildings in Ukraine is 1 percent, in non-residential construction - 25 percent. The Association will strive to increase the share of consumption of steel structures in residential construction up to 10 percent, in non-residential - up to 50 percent. This will be able to create an additional market with a volume of 1 million tons per year until 2020 and will have a positive effect on the Ukrainian economy as a whole.
The Association can act as a center for the development of innovative solutions, the best technologies and will provide an opportunity to create an effective technical base in the production of steel structures. The organization's members are offered full technical support and consulting on the use of modern steel construction technologies.
As a result of the operation of the USCC, it is planned to increase the investment attractiveness of the construction industry, due to the fact that the implementation time will be reduced and the cost of construction will decrease, which will significantly increase the return on investment. In addition, it will allow you to embody the most daring architectural concepts.
