From 3rd to 5th July 2013, a conference was held in St. Petersburg, dedicated to further plans for the development of new technologies in mechanical engineering, and the prospects for them in general. The conference became a meeting place for a huge number of representatives of industrial and scientific and technical organizations.
The company CherMK (JSC "Severstal") held several presentations related to the creation of products and technologies that meet the needs of the machine-building industry. The speakers presented proposals for the introduction of advanced methods of metal processing and cutting. The positive experience of using laser cutting of metal in Nizhny Novgorod was noted. Along with the use of high-quality, high-strength steels, new methods of metal processing are the most important for increasing the level of engineering products.
Modern mechanical engineering requires the use of steels that provide reliable performance, lower production costs and lower environmental impact. The conference participants were interested in the development of technological processes for the creation of two-layer steels, which are in high demand in shipbuilding, as noted in the final speech by the deputy. Director of the Institute of Structural Materials "Prometheus" Victor Malyshevsky.
The conference considered the use of new high-strength materials in such divisions as the automotive industry, shipbuilding, car building, equipment for the oil and gas sector. Representatives of various companies reported on new opportunities in the technical support sectors that allow them to respond in a timely manner to changing needs of the machine-building market and achieve high quality products, the creation of joint scientifically based production technologies.
