In October 2019, the mining and metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- 1.59 million tons of pig iron, which is 0.1% less than in September 2019;
- 1.56 million tonnes of steel, down 0.11%;
- 1.43 million tonnes of rolled metal products, down 0.9%;
Rolled metal from low-alloy structural 09G2S steel is in demand in various industries and economic activities. Metinvest Group produces machine-building metal rolling, electronic pipes, rolled metal for vessels and boilers, structural metal, etc. from 09G2S steel.
In Ukraine within 10 months of 2019 produced:
- 52.57 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, which is 5% higher than the results of the same period in 2018;
- 26.21 million tonnes of sinter, a decrease in production by 0.3%;
- 17.77 million tonnes of pellets, up 0.2%;
- 17.07 million tonnes of pig iron, down 0.1%;
- 17.93 million tonnes of steel, an increase in production by 2%;
- 15.54 million tons of rolled metal, which is 1% higher;
- 0.89 million tonnes of tubular products, down 0.5%.
As of the current moment, of the existing production facilities, blast furnaces are in operation - 13 out of 21, open-hearth furnaces - 8 out of 9, converters - 10 out of 16, electric furnaces - 5 out of 15, continuous casting machines - 14 out of 15 .
According to forecasts, in December 2019, production of the main products will be as follows: pig iron in the amount of 1.7 million tons, 1.7 million tons of steel, 1.6 million tons of rolled metal.
