Casting (or foundry) is a production method by which blanks (castings) are made by filling with molten metal into a previously prepared casting mold, the configuration of the cavity of which completely repeats the design of the product. After crystallization and cooling of the metal in the mold, a casting of the required shape is obtained.
The main task of the foundry is the production of castings from metals and their alloys, having a variety of configurations with the maximum approximation of their shape and size to the specified parameters of the product.
Foundry at the Southern Mechanical Foundry
LLC "UMLZ" is a stably operating plant in the metallurgical industry of Ukraine. Production facilities are located in the cities of Mariupol, Berdyansk. The foundry complex is located in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region.

Also LLC "UMLZ" specializes in the manufacture of expanded polystyrene models by the autoclave method in molds of its own production. To obtain castings, modern LGM technologies are used. Raw materials are injected into the mold - beaded polystyrene, then the press-reform is placed in an autoclave, where the polystyrene is foamed and sintered, forming a model.
For single castings, including unique ones, the production of which is impossible or economically inexpedient by other methods, the models are made from block expanded polystyrene using the "Thermoplotter" hardware and software complex.
