Heat carriers for air conditioning, cooling and heating systems

Теплоносители для систем кондиционирования, охлаждения и отопления

In modern air conditioning and heating systems, special fluids - heat carriers are used as a substance that transfers heat from a heater or cold of the cooling system to the consumer.

Heat transfer fluid are glycols diluted in water. In addition to them, it may contain various additives, anti-corrosion, stabilizing, and others. Such substances also include chemically aggressive products: ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, therefore their activity is reduced by special additives. This reduces the possibility of oxidation and damage to parts thousands of times. On the market, heat transfer fluids are sold in the form of a concentrate and in the form of an aqueous solution.

The physical characteristics of coolants based on ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are almost the same, their difference lies in the types of additives that quench the aggressiveness of the coolant base and protect the system from corrosion, scale and other contamination.

In air conditioning systems, heat carriers are used as an environmentally friendly product. In addition, coolants are widely used in other, various heat exchange devices.

Substances used in heating and cooling systems are manufactured in accordance with special standardized requirements. Such substances are not aggressive to metal, do not cause any negative effect on the human body.

It is important that in case of draining the already used heat carrier, it is necessary to flush the entire heat exchange system to remove scale and other contamination.

It is necessary to store such substances in hermetically sealed containers and in unheated rooms. Also try not to let the sun's rays hit the coolants. The shelf life of coolants directly depends on the operating conditions, no matter how stable the composition of the substance is. In no case should you mix coolants made on different bases (ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc.). It is also necessary to control the temperature of the coolant, since when overheated above 150 ° C, the base and coolant additives decompose.

You need to choose the type of heat carrier based on the number of the lowest temperature, that is, the freezing point of the substance, and with a margin of about 3 degrees lower than the expected temperature in the air conditioning system.
