First of all, I must say that there are high-quality and low-quality pads, and in the second case, wear will come much faster. Driving style is also an important factor. If the motorist often resorts to sharp braking, then the recommended period for replacing the pads can be easily divided by two. It is also important to look at the weather conditions in which you will have to drive a vehicle. Brake pads do not like driving on snowy or wet roads, as they begin to make a characteristic sound.
Signs of an urgent brake pad replacement
To understand whether it is time to change the pads, you can simply send the car to the service station, where, after the diagnosis, the degree of wear will be clear. You can also take a closer look at the operation of the brake system, since the onset of the limit value of wear is expressed in some moments. For example, when the braking distance increases, it is time to think about replacing the pads. This should be done if an abnormal vibration is noticed during braking. This occurs when the brake discs are damaged. The presence of extraneous sounds, such as the same grinding or whistling, can indicate an almost complete depletion of shoe plates.
A prerequisite for replacing brake pads is to reduce their thickness to 5 mm. This is the maximum permissible thickness. But even with this thickness, the product can be changed.
