Painting of sheet steel

Покраска листовой стали

Sheet metal can be coated with either liquid or polymer powder paints. The second, more modern of the named methods, is already replacing the first. It is especially good after laser cutting of sheets. This method is very effective for protecting metal surfaces from any destructive effects. The mentioned paint has a high mechanical and anticorrosive resistance, it is stored for a long time. Often it is not even necessary to prime the surface before applying it. The surfaces must be degreased, rinsed with demineralized water and dried in specially designed chambers.

Sheet metal painting work can be automatic or manual. Powder coloring agent is environmentally friendly, and the process itself is waste-free (it consists in spraying paint from a special gun). The bottom line is that oppositely charged particles (electrostatic) are used, and therefore they lie flat and firmly on the sheet. This takes place in the spraying chamber, where the "extra" particles are captured and can be used later. During continuous painting, sheets move on a conveyor.

The next stage takes place in the polymerization chamber, which is a furnace. Here, hot air flows move from bottom to top, evenly heating the products. High temperatures (180-190 degrees) cause the paint to melt (within 10-15 minutes). As a result, it spreads absolutely evenly over the sheets, forming a strong film on the surface. Most often, it is no longer necessary to apply a second layer, that is, this method of staining is very economical.

The above process is carried out on high-tech equipment that can work up to twenty hours a day (a break is allowed for maintenance). It is capable of treating a surface area of up to six hundred square meters per day. At such a production, work goes on in a continuous stream, seven days a week. Only one day a month is usually allowed for prophylaxis. Technical control and compliance with GOSTs ensure high quality work that meets the specified standards. Painted sheets are resistant to weakly alkaline and weakly acidic liquids, and are also not afraid of ultraviolet radiation. Note that such finished products are allowed to be used in children's and medical institutions.
