Dynamics of export of scrap metal
For Russian regions, ferrous metal is mainly an export product. Considering the data for 2019, we can say that exports exceeded imports, on average, 4 times. The monthly volume of supplies of ferrous metal for export is 350 thousand tons. However, the export dynamics are not uniform. For example, back in the spring of 2019, there was a significant increase over the month. It amounted to 450 thousand tons. The peak was in June. 590 thousand tons of ferrous scrap metal were exported.
Geography of scrap export in 2020
The current year is stable. The decline was observed only in April. Then about 260 thousand scrap of ferrous metals were exported. Considering the geography of scrap in the current year, one can note Turkey, to which 1.6 million tons of scrap were exported. Belarus ranks second.
