Another extremely common and in great demand type of metal profile is the channel. In essence, a channel is a metal beam with a characteristic U-shaped cross-section. You can see that channels are applicable in many areas of industry and construction. Channel is one of the main types of beams used in the construction of high-rise buildings. Piles, supports, various kinds of ramps can also be made from it. There are two ways to make channels - hot-rolled or bent. In the first case, the red-hot workpiece is pulled through the holes on the machine, giving it the desired shape. In the second case, the channel is made of a blank metal sheet, which is bent accordingly. The channel is also distinguished in shape: the side shelves can have different lengths, or be the same, and also be located parallel to each other or at a slight angle to the base. Such variations are due to the specific application of the channel, and its individual properties depend on them.
