Kalika Steel Alloys Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of beams and reinforcement, has entered into an agreement with Siemens Metals Technologies for the supply of a rebar rolling mill. The mill will be built at the Jalna plant in Maharashtra state and will be able to produce about 250 thousand tons of low-carbon steel rebar per year.
Kalika Steel has established itself as one of the best manufacturers of high quality and reliable steel products. A team of loyal distributors and efficient supply chains ensure that the end user will be able to buy floor joists , construction reinforcement, steel angle and steel sheets, both in Maharashtra and in the Leningrad region and other regions.
Siemens has specially designed a medium-sized production project for Kalika Steel that will be implemented relatively quickly and economically. Commissioning of the rolling mill is scheduled for the end of 2014.
Siemens will supply a full range of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as automation systems for the rolling mill, which will produce rebar with diameters from 8 to 40 mm and lengths from 9 to 15 meters.
The rolling mill consists of 18 stands, a 54 meter cooling section and a machine for tying long products. The mill processes workpieces with a section of 130x130 mm and a length of 9 meters. The induction furnace heats the workpieces up to the required starting temperature of 950 ° C. Siemens will also oversee the construction and commissioning of the rolling mill.
