Currently, among the huge variety of metal products sold in the global and Russian markets of building materials, the corrugated mesh is in special demand, which is made without the use of welding by interweaving with each other a special thick steel corrugated wire. It is purchased in extremely large volumes by the mining, metallurgical and chemical industries, agriculture and various organizations (both state and commercial), whose work is in one way or another related to the construction industry.
The reason for such a demand for corrugated metal mesh, as you might guess, lies in its extremely high performance characteristics. So, for example, the non-welding method used to obtain it allows achieving sufficiently significant indicators of mechanical resistance - in other words, this material is able to withstand very high weight and shock loads without losing its rigidity. The last characteristic, it should be noted, is precisely the result of the application of special grooves - the so-called "flutes" to the wire used to obtain the mesh. They give the rods, which are themselves made of galvanized steel, additional strength and rigidity.
A corrugated metal mesh is produced in the same way as glass cloth plaster mesh , in the form of flat cards with a width of 2 and a length of 10 meters. Before being sent to the customer's enterprise, the card is rolled into rolls, the weight of which can range from 350 kilograms to 1.5 tons. However, despite the fact that these parameters are generally used, the owners of organizations may well order the mesh and sizes different from them - those that would be most suitable for solving a particular production problem.
Upon receipt, the ordered mesh should always be carefully inspected. The need for such manipulations is dictated by its very purpose. If the fine metal mesh netting is used mainly for the installation of fences of personal plots, then corrugated welded mesh is used in large and responsible construction and mining projects. First of all, when examining the finished product, it is necessary to pay attention to the absence of cracks in the corrugation bends. Their presence may ultimately lead to the fact that the resistance of the structure to mechanical and weight loads will be several times less than the declared one.
In addition, the individual constituent parts of the material should not move freely and rotate inside the cells. Here, however, it should be noted that in some cases the corrugated wire still allows turning, but within strictly limited limits - no more than 2 wires per 1 m². The presence of a larger number of freely moving elements is sufficient reason for contacting the material manufacturer with a request to replace a defective roll.
