Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox announced on Friday, December 13, that $ 452 million has been provided to finance the Ohio bridge linking Louisville to South Indiana. This is reported by the Internet portal poselkitam.ru
The total cost of the project, which includes the renovation of the existing and the construction of new bridges across Ohio, is, according to the most conservative estimates, 1.3 billion US dollars. Half of this amount will be allocated by the state budget of the United States. Indiana will fund a new highway linking Kentucky, Utica and Indiana.
The two bridges will significantly relieve the Louisville-Jefferonville State Highway passing here and create additional opportunities for citizens to travel to the city center, said Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendes. "This will improve the quality of life of the residents of the surrounding areas and open up wider access to employment opportunities in the city's inner districts," he stressed.
Louisville is considered one of the oldest cities in the United States with a population of over a million. In these areas, the Ohio River reaches a width of 800 meters. The city of Louisville is adored by American retirees - here, in the warm climate on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, you can sunbathe and swim all year round.
