One of the first to show interest was the German company Maschinenfabrik Hermle AG, which has the largest production of milling machines, drilling and slotting machines , machining centers and other equipment, used in the automotive, woodworking, aircraft and other industries.
Hermle AG signed an investment agreement with the regional structures of the Ulyanovsk region, signed with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation represented by Denis Manturov. The new plant is scheduled to be operational in 2015.
The enterprise will be built in the Zavolzhye industrial zone on a 10 hectare site. Investment in the project will amount to 150 million rubles. Hermle's machine tool production will be the first in the Ulyanovsk region and in Russia. The new plant will serve as the basis for the formation of a machine tool cluster in the region.
As part of the project, it is planned to build not only production and storage facilities in the Ulyanovsk region, but also showrooms, as well as create a training center and a center for technical support and equipment repair.
In addition to the facilities of Hermle AG, other foreign enterprises are planning to locate their production facilities on the territory allocated for construction. By 2017, metalworking centers and auxiliary production of machine tool components will start operating in the region, as a result of which a machine tool production complex will be created, which will provide new jobs in the Ulyanovsk region.
