ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in January 2014, despite a reduction in the production of steel, cast iron and rolled products compared to January last year, increased the average salary at the enterprise to 5,781.8 hryvnia compared to 5,305.7 hryvnia in January 2013.
The decline in production is due to the fact that one of the largest blast furnaces was shut down for the conduct of a comprehensive repair. At the same time, PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" is carrying out repair work in the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists, where in one of the halls starry sky ceiling is installed , as well as the preparation of children's health camps and boarding houses on the shores of the Black and Azov Seas for the summer vacation of employees.
Deputy Director for Operations Paramjit Kalon said that January 2014 was a busy year for ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in terms of the number of completed repairs. In January, repairs were also completed in the converter shop, sinter shop and refractory limestone shop. The huge volume of work performed will ensure the readiness of the enterprise for efficient production activities throughout the year.
In this regard, the production of pig iron in January this year was lower than expected and amounted to 333.4 thousand tons (in January 2013 - 473.2 thousand tons). The level of steel production was also reduced to 375.4 thousand tons (in January 2013 - 536.5 thousand tons), rolled products to 334.4 thousand tons (in January 2013 - 469.9 thousand tons), but from January 25, 2014 production level at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has been fully restored.
