Not so long ago, polymer pipes were quite expensive, since they were produced with an increased thickness in order to protect the contents from all kinds of influences.
The appearance of corrugations significantly reduced the cost of pipes. Synthetic corrugation is resistant to high loads, waterproof, inert to UV rays and harsh chemicals. Today, corrugated pipes are laid under and above the ground and even along the bottom of water bodies. Corrugated pipes are widely used due to their flexibility and wear resistance. Most often they can be found when laying television, computer and telephone cables. Corrugation has found application in sewer systems.
All corrugated pipes can be divided into several main types :
- PVC pipes. They are used for laying sewers.
- pipes made of polyethylene of low pressure. Their strength is slightly lower than PVC pipes
- composite pipes.
Corrugated sheets have become popular in building construction and especially in exterior decoration. They are often used as a roofing material, both in the construction of industrial buildings and in civil engineering for the construction of houses and cottages.
The facades of buildings, especially factories, warehouses and farms, are trimmed with corrugated sheets. Today, corrugated sheets can often be seen on the canopies of houses. Cheap fences are built from corrugated sheets, which can be installed in a matter of hours.
Corrugated sheets can be produced in different thicknesses and areas. The size and profile of the waves may differ depending on the purpose of the destination.
