Impact of the processes of world integration and the world economic crisis on the Ukrainian economy

Влияние процессов мировой интеграции и мирового экономического кризиса на украинскую экономику

It's no secret that in recent years this country has been actively striving to integrate into the world economy. Sometimes - to the detriment of their own interests, somewhere replacing the economic component with political priorities.

The global economic crisis, which a couple of years ago passed through Greece and Cyprus, is now actively testing the strength of yet another young European country. This time Ukraine fell victim to him.

It is no secret that in recent years this country has actively sought to integrate into the world economy. Sometimes - to the detriment of their own interests, somewhere replacing the economic component with political priorities. In return, the loyalty of world economic leaders and investment in the economy were expected.

First of all, the infusions would allow the development of such traditionally important industries as metallurgy, the chemical industry and heavy engineering. It is here that the main town and settlement-forming enterprises are concentrated, providing jobs and stable wages for thousands of qualified workers.

But the miracle did not happen. Moreover, active involvement in the world economic, primarily credit and banking processes, like a flywheel, unleashed the situation of stagnation.

The drop in production, first of all, and affected these most financially intensive industries. As a result, a crisis of underproduction emerged. The production and sale of high-quality chemical products, such as porous rubber , silicone rubber goods, 88 glue and other goods.

In mechanical engineering, stagnation affected the release of such products as hydraulic cuffs, drive belts, pressure hoses, and a whole group of similar products, the high quality and reliability of which were widely known in the world market until recently.

What are analysts' forecasts for the current year?

It is still too early to talk about emerging trends. Nevertheless, a twofold development of the situation can be assumed.

If the political situation stabilizes and Ukraine continues the European integration processes, first of all, the allocated tranches should be directed specifically at creating the prerequisites for industrial growth in these sectors, relying on science intensity and modern technologies .

If the integration processes slow down, then, probably, there will be a question about the need for Russian loans, as well as the development of joint ventures, including on the basis of the existing Ukrainian giants of mechanical engineering and the chemical industry. But even in this case, it is necessary to focus on the innovativeness of the new industry, on the uniqueness of the product in order to increase its competitiveness and conquer the world market.

In any case, there are ways out of this situation, and the results can be calculated only after deciding on the chosen course.
