The largest steel company of South Korea Posco announced the launch of a domain furnace No. 1 of the Metallurgical Plant in the city of Kwanyan.
The modernization of metallurgical capacities carried out this year made it possible to increase the volume of blasties from 3950 to 6000 cubic meters. Accordingly, the furnace performance reached 5 million 700 thousand tons of steel a year against 3 million tons earlier.
According to the South Korean press, now the most powerful blast furnace in the world is in a quanve, ahead of the Chinese house of Shagang Steel with a volume of 5800 cubic meters.
