Steel production in Ukraine was 19.69 million tonnes in the first eight months of 2014, down 11 percent from the same period last year, according to data released by the Ukrainian Producers Association Metallurgprom.
During this period, the output of finished steel products in the country also decreased by 11 percent to 17,340 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2013. In addition, pig iron production fell 6 percent on an annualized basis to 18.2 million tonnes.
