Tata Steel announced that it plans to begin phase 2 operations at its steel plant located in Kalingi Nagar, Jaipur, in March 2015. Around the same time, the company is also set to begin production at a ferroalloy plant in the Ganjam area, in Gopalpur.

These two projects will provide jobs for 1,000 people. The company has currently invested $ 100 billion in both of these projects. The construction of the ferroalloy plant will cost from 2 to 2.5 billion dollars, in addition, the company has invested about 7.5 to 8 billion dollars in a rebar production project.

The director of Tata Steel, after meeting with the Chief Minister of the state of Odisha, said that the second phase of the company's steelmaking project in Kalingi Nagar will be completed by 2015. Production is slated to begin simultaneously with the ferroalloy plant in March. He also said that the company has already completed the development of a master plan for the industrial park located in Gopalpur and is organizing road shows in Southeast Asia to attract investors.
