INTERPIPE STEEL, an electric steelmaking complex for the production of steel pipes and railroad wheels, the Ukrainian company INTERPIPE, announced that from January to August 2014 its crude steel production decreased by 25 cents compared to the same period last year to 609,000 tonnes. The company produced 72,000 tonnes of steel in August alone, up from 95,000 tonnes in July.
INTERPIPE STEEL is a key project for Interpipe, which ensures the production of pipes and wheels of the company from its own steel billets. The project replaced the energy-consuming and outdated open-hearth production with an environmentally friendly method of steelmaking.
