The world's third-largest aluminum producer, Alcoa, announces that it has produced the world's first one-piece aluminum for military vehicles as part of a deal it signed with the US Army last year.
The prefabricated structures that have been used in the American army to this day will be replaced by a single corps, which was developed by the company in conjunction with the US Army Research Laboratory, operating on the army's based programs to develop vehicle protection through improvements in production technology.
Alcoa is convinced that compared to the traditional designs that have been used in the past, the new redesigned enclosure, successfully tested through a series of simulations, will guarantee twice the protection against explosive devices, especially improvised ones.
In addition, this new case will take less time to build and will also be lighter in weight than its predecessors. All this helps to reduce the overall cost, as well as accelerate the production of vehicles for the US military complex.
The company has already completed the production of two demonstration forgings at the company's Cleveland plant using an Alcoa 50,000 ton hydraulic press, one of the most advanced hydraulic presses in the world.
The army participated in the process of blowing up the demonstration corps created by the company. These innovations will help transform the US military and can also be used in many other areas.
Alcoa is developing to improve the American military transport
