According to the latest statistics released by the Chinese customs, the export of cold rolled coil (CRC) from the country almost doubled during the month of September 2014. According to customs information, CRC exports from the country in September amounted to 416,479 tons, up 46 percent compared to exports of 286,222 tons in the same month last year.
The largest volume of cold-rolled products in China's exports in September this year fell on the United States. Exports of these products to the United States have grown significantly on an annualized basis. During September 2014, CRC deliveries reached 94,299 tonnes, compared to 43,011 tonnes in September 2013.
The second largest importer of Chinese CRC products was Taiwan with 64,644 tonnes. This is followed by South Korea with 51,749 tons. CRC exports to South Korea rose 42.3 percent over the previous year.
Cumulative exports of cold rolled coils from China in the first nine months of 2014 increased 43.4 percent year-on-year to 3.5 million tonnes. Then, as export deliveries of CRC from China in January-September amounted to 2,440 thousand tons during 2013.
Preliminary October statistics released by Chinese customs indicate a continuing upward trend in cold rolled coil exports.
