OMK announces its awards at Metal-Expo

United Metallurgical Company took part in the 20th international industrial exhibition Metal-Expo 2014, which was held in Moscow. At the end of the event, Vyksa Steel Works (VMZ), part of OMK, was awarded two exhibition medals for creating innovative products.

VMZ received a silver medal for mastering the production of flat products and welded pipes for the underwater part of the South Stream gas pipeline. VMZ was also awarded a gold medal for the production of solid-rolled wheels for high-speed electric trains. OMK also received three awards for corporate communications. Thus, the magazine OMK "Team" was chosen as the best corporate magazine in the metallurgical industry in Russia and the CIS.

In addition, the joint publishing project of OMK and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys received a diploma recognizing it as the best book. The high-tech stand of OMK with more than 30 representatives of the company was recognized by the organizers as the best exposition. During the exhibition, OMK representatives took an active part in more than 10 conferences, round tables and presentations.

Vladimir Markin, President of OMK, said that the 20th anniversary of Metal-Expo is a very important event, since during this period the most attractive projects of the country for such a strategically important industry as metallurgy were presented at the exhibition. “It is difficult to overestimate the possibility of meeting all key representatives of our industry during one event, as well as discussing the most significant current and promising projects and developments,” he said.
