Turkish pipe producers are optimistic and want to surpass the target of 2 million tonnes of exports during 2015. In their opinion, the abolition of the import duty on flat products should ensure the supply of raw materials in a sufficient volume to increase production.
According to the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), the country's pipe exports totaled 1.95 million tons in 2014, an increase of 4.9 percent over the previous year. It is noted that pipe exports have grown even despite political instability in some key export markets, including Iraq. CEBID notes that the removal of import duties on flat products should allow the country to meet its target of $ 7.9 billion from pipe exports by 2023.
