Severstal certified valves for supplies to Finland and other Baltic countries

Severstal, one of the world's leading producers of steel and steel products associated with mining companies, has received the SFS1268 certificate authorizing the company to supply rebar to Finland and the other Baltic countries, where there is a high demand for these steel products.

To date, Severstal has received a certificate for rebar with diameters of 10, 12 and 16 mm, produced at the steel plant in Cherepovets, which is part of the Russian Metallurgical Division of Severstal. The company must obtain a certificate for the entire product range of fittings from 10 to 32 mm diameter by the end of 2015.

Dmitry Goroshkov, Marketing and Sales Director of Severstal's Russian Metallurgical Division, commented: “With these certified products, Severstal is now able to expand its target market and has the potential to further improve distribution efficiency by supplying these products to easily accessible export markets from promising growth potential such as the Scandinavian countries. "

The first batch of rebar, which amounted to 1200 tons, has already been delivered to Finland in January 2015. The Baltic countries are characterized by good demand in the construction industry, coming mainly from the industrial construction sector, not housing construction. This situation is related to credit lines for clients, and some contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry have some difficulty in financing.
