ALBA The Berlin-headquartered group specializing in technical innovation and the operation of state-of-the-art recycling plants has sold its scrap recycling facility in Aschaffenburg, Germany.
The center was transferred to the metal processing group Bernhard Westarp GmbH & Co. The deal was completed in January 2015. ALBA said the sale is part of the company's strategic redevelopment plans. The Aschaffenburg facility is capable of processing approximately 30,000 tonnes of scrap metal per year, but last year the facility was established and used to buy and sell scrap metal.
Axel Schweitzer, CEO of the Alba Group, said the company's mission is to drive the planned strategic realignment of its product and service offering. “This includes further increases in the cost of recycled metal yields, as well as strengthening our influence in sectors where we extract new raw materials, as well as technology innovation in waste management, including metal recycling activities,” he said.
