Zaporizhstal increased production and tax payments

According to the results of 2014, the metallurgical plant Zaporizhstal transferred more than UAH 1.4 billion. to the budget, which is 34 percent more than the amount transferred in 2013. This amount includes taxes, duties and other obligatory payments to budgets of all levels and special state trust funds. In 2014, there was more than 8 percent increase in tax payments to the local budget (UAH 280 million) against UAH 258 million. in 2013.

Metallurgical Plant Zaporizhstal is one of the main taxpayers in the Zaporozhye region and Ukraine, as well as one of the enterprises in Ukraine that manages to maintain and even increase production in 2015.

Rostislav Shurma, General Director of Zaporizhstal, said that in 2014 the metallurgical plant managed to increase the payment of taxes compared to 2013, which is especially important in the current situation when industrial enterprises in Ukraine are closed one after another, and therefore less and less taxes are received to the state budget.

He specified that from January to December 2014, there was an increase in all production indicators: pig iron by 9.1 percent, steel by 3.8 percent, rolled products by 5 percent compared to 2013.

In January this year, Zaporizhstal increased steel production by 2.7 percent to 346,000 tons, pig iron by 15.1 percent to 326,500 tons, long products by 2.1 percent to 298,100 tons compared to the same period in 2014. Despite the growth in production, it is more and more difficult for the plant to maintain its output in the context of the collapse of the transport infrastructure in the Donbass, as well as an increase in logistics freight rates of railway transport.
