Data released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI) shows that the daily global primary aluminum production remains the same throughout January this year. Yield averaged 67,800 tonnes per day for the month, remaining unchanged from the previous month. However, in January 2015, the volume of aluminum in warehouses slightly decreased compared to January last year.
Global primary aluminum production amounted to 2.103 thousand tons throughout January 2015, remaining unchanged from the output a month ago. It should be noted that the output is up from a year earlier, when global primary aluminum production stood at 2,051,000 tonnes in January 2014.
According to IAI, the bulk of aluminum production during 2015 should exceed the results of 2014. The projected output for 2015 is 25,236 thousand tons, up 3.27 percent from an annual production of 24,437 tons during 2014. Meanwhile, the global aluminum production during 2013 was 24,586 thousand tons with an average daily production rate of 67,400 tons.
IAI acts as the international organization for aluminum producers. The association, founded in 1972, represents over 60 percent of the world's production of bauxite, alumina and aluminum. It includes companies in the bauxite, alumina, aluminum, aluminum or aluminum product manufacturing and distribution partners.
