Ilyich Iron and Steel Works installed a Thermatool HF generator in a pipe electric welding shop by videoconference

A new modern transistor HF generator manufactured by Thermatool, which is one of the world leaders in the manufacture of equipment for the production of electric-welded pipes, has been installed and put into operation in the electric pipe shop of the plant.

Investments amounted to over UAH 8.5 million.

The high frequency generator is central to the smooth operation of the RD-115 pipe production line. The old equipment was based on outdated lamp technology, which resulted in frequent crashes and lost production.

The new Thermatool generator has increased energy-saving characteristics and, thanks to the use of modern transistor technology, provides a higher productivity (efficiency of about 90%) of the electric pipe line. In combination with the use of diamond blades for cutting on the line, this makes it possible not only to produce the currently existing assortment of round and shaped pipes, but also allows you to provide a power reserve for further modernization of the workshop with the expansion of the assortment line of finished products.

Together with the installation of a transistor generator, its cooling system was also updated, which, instead of old refrigerators, provides for more technological and efficient refrigeration machines - chillers. Their use will save industrial water, as well as eliminate downtime in the summer due to overheating of the generator.

The installation of the new equipment was carried out by the personnel of the electric pipe shop without the involvement of contractors. Representatives of the manufacturer provided consulting assistance to the specialists of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works. Plus, the residents of Ilyichevsk got a similar experience a year ago when replacing the HF generator on the RN-40 production line.
